Machined metal parts are precision components created by removing material from solid workpieces using CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machining centers. They achieve tight tolerances (±0.005 mm), excellent surface finishes, and superior mechanical properties—ideal for aerospace, medical, automotive, and industrial applications.
Machined metal parts are components manufactured through subtractive processes including CNC milling, CNC turning, drilling, boring, and grinding. Unlike cast or forged parts, machined metal parts retain full material integrity with no porosity, inclusions, or residual stress from solidification. The process begins with a CAD model converted to G-code, directing tool paths, spindle speeds (up to 30,000 RPM), and feed rates (10-40 m/min).
Machined metal parts achieve tolerances as tight as ±0.005 mm and surface finishes down to Ra 0.4 µm (mirror finish). Capabilities range from micro-machining (features as small as 0.1 mm) to large components (2,000+ mm). Materials include aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, brass, Inconel, and engineering plastics. Multi-axis machining (up to 5-axis) enables complex geometries including undercuts, angled features, and contoured surfaces in a single setup, eliminating secondary operations.




Scenario: Hydraulic manifold failure due to surface finish and material incompatibility.
A heavy equipment manufacturer experienced chronic leakage (3-4 failures annually) on hydraulic manifolds controlling excavator attachment circuits (operating pressure 3,500 psi). The original manifolds were 6061 aluminum with as-machined sealing surfaces (Ra 1.2 µm). After 6-9 months, O-rings extruded into surface tool marks, causing cross-port leakage.
