Ideal for mission-critical industrial, medical, and aerospace applications where reliability is non-negotiable. (78 words)
A CNC aluminum enclosure is a custom-machined housing produced by computer-controlled milling or turning of wrought aluminum stock. Unlike extrusions or castings, CNC machining delivers tight tolerances (typically ±0.005 in. / ±0.13 mm), complex internal geometries, and seamless integration of vents, cutouts, and mounting features without secondary tooling.

A: 0.040 in. (1.0 mm) for 6061-T6 with proper chip evacuation; 0.060 in. recommended for tapped holes.
A: Yes – standard groove width 0.062 in. (1.57 mm), depth 0.040 in. (1.02 mm) for conductive elastomer gaskets.
A: Yes – with silicone O-rings and stainless hardware; tested per IEC 60529. Note: aluminum is not stainless steel, but 6061 anodized resists salt spray >500 hrs (ASTM B117).
A: Send STEP (.stp) or IGES file via our ThomasNet company page or direct upload portal. No registration required for initial quote.
A: Standard tolerance ±0.005 in. (±0.13 mm) for linear dimensions and hole positions. For critical features like bearing pockets or lid alignment, ±0.002 in. (±0.05 mm) is achievable without special tooling.
